Offset printing is the best choice for reproducing printed materials in higher quantities. This is because the majority of the cost is in the setup and make-ready of the press. Once this has been done, the cost is minimal for each subsequent piece produced. In many cases the increase in cost from say, 2,500 to 3,000, will be very small compared to the initial cost of 500. This allows you to lower your per piece cost significantly the higher the quantity you produce.

The Heidelberg images its own plates directly on the press. This differs from most offset presses who have to make plates in a separate process that is more time consuming and costly. The direct imaging process uses no film, processing chemicals, platemaking solutions, toners, and no dampening chemicals. This means that your job can be produced quickly, with less environmental impact.
